This feature allows more than one Directory Number to be assigned to one single-party line. Special ringing and call waiting signals distinguish to which one of the Directory Numbers the call was made.

Long Distance Signal: Using a cadence of distinctive ringing, this network feature can inform the subscriber of a single-party service that the incoming call is a toll call. Should the subscriber's phone be OFF-HOOK at the time of arrival of the toll call, a distinctive call waiting cadence is delivered to the subscriber.

This document, in conjunction with the  Northern Telecom Inc. documents  listed below, describes the Physical, Data Link, and Network layers of the ISDN BRA interface that will be used during the extended technical trials in Bell Canada. The trial has been extended to include supplementary services and an update to the functional basic call control. The interface is configured as 2B+D at a line rate of 192 Kbps using the 2B1Q line code at the U interface point.

BULK CALLING LINE IDENTIFICATION (BCLID) 800 SERVICE ENHANCEMENTS

This feature provides the capability for customers, subscribing to multiple 800 numbers terminating on the same conversion number, to identify the specific 800 number that was dialed. The calling directory number, called 800 number and several call related identifiers are delivered from the network on a dedicated two wire Bell 202A grade line to the DNI feature customer. This allows the subscriber to handle the incoming calls in a customized way based on the received information.

The emergency bureau can use this information to provide computer aided dispatch.

This document describes the Calling Card Swipe Mode Access Service (Card Swipe Access) for Card Platform Providers that will be introduced by IIQ97. A Card Platform Provider is a company that operates one or more platforms that interface with users of either pre-paid or post-paid calling cards.

Card Swipe Access provides the capability for public telephones equipped with magnetic card readers to read a toll-free number (1-800 or 1-888) that is encoded on the magnetic stripe of a calling card and to automatically dial that number. In addition, the public telephone will be able to transmit the card number or other card identifying record that is encoded on the magnetic stripe.

This document describes the interfaces between Local Service Providers (LSPs) and the Bell Canada Network for the purpose of providing 9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (9-1-1 PERS). These interfaces allow 9-1-1 calls originating from LSP customers to be passed through the Bell Canada network to the appropriate 9-1-1 service bureau. These interfaces also allow the LSPs to update Bell Canada's 9-1-1 PERS Data System with the pertinent calling number and location information of their customers.

ECM provides a bi-directional data channel between the DMS-100 switch and an external host computer. The data is transported using X.25 protocol. Based on availability, Calling Line Identification (CLID) is provided by the switch to the host.
