Terminal-to-Network Interface
Bell Canada announces the commercial introduction of the
Terminal-to-Network interface for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line
2+(ADSL2+) based on publicly available standards. Service is expected to
commence in IQ2006 in selected areas of Ontario and Quebec, subject to
market requirements and technical feasibility. This interface is in
addition to the interface described in Bell Industry Advisory BIA-4n.
This service will use existing telephone loops having metallic
continuity, to provide simultaneous voice and data capability between the
subscriber and the main terminal room. ADSL equipment will be provided by
the ADSL service provider at both ends of the loop. The connection to the
local loop will remain an existing POTS copper interface.
Subscriber located ADSL equipment must be certified in accordance with Certification
Specification CS-03.
