Terminal-to-Network Interface
Bell Canada announces the introduction of a new Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) Terminal-to-Network Interface based on publicly available
standards. The connection to the PSTN for voiceband services is
a normal two-wire POTS interface. This interface is in addition
to the interface described in Bell Industry Advisory BIA-4b
(formerly Stentor Industry Advisory SIA-4i). The interface defined in BIA-4b
will continue to be available.
Subscriber located ADSL equipment must be certified in accordance with Certification
Specification CS-03.
Compatibility Impact:
None expected.
Note that this advisory makes no claims concerning vendor-specific ADSL modem
interoperability with Bell Canada's ADSL network.
