Bell Canada announces the publication of updated versions of BID-0024, Public Emergency Reporting Service (9-1-1 PERS) Network-to-Network Interface Between Local Service Providers and Bell Canada’s Network, and BID-0028, 9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (9-1-1 PERS) Network-to-Network Interface Between Wireless Service Providers and Bell Canada Network.

BID-0024 (Issue 4), dated November 2003 provides an update to correct the description of the Called Party Disconnect Signal functionality described in Section 3.2.2. In addition, Sections 4.2, 5.1, 6.1 and 6.3 have been updated to reflect the introduction of a web based access arrangement to support the Electronic File Transfer of the Local Service Provider’s Customer Record Information to the Company’s 9-1-1 data management system.

BID-0028 (Version 2.0), dated November 2003 provides an update to Sections 4.2, 5.1, 6.1 and 6.3 to reflect the introduction of a web based access arrangement to support the Electronic File Transfer of the Wireless Service Provider’s Customer Record Information (ESRD and cell site / sector pseudo location information) to the Company’s 9-1-1 data management system.

Compatibility Impact:

Bell Canada plans to withdraw the existing e-mail access arrangement, described in Section 4.2.1 of both BIDs, once all existing users have been migrated to the web access arrangement. Arrangements for this migration will be coordinated separately with each existing user. All new users will be implemented on the web access arrangement.

BID-0024 Issue 4, and BID-0028 Version 2.0 are available in both electronic and hard copy formats. Bell Canada will charge recipients $50.00 for each electronic version, and $65.00 for each hard copy version.
