No. BIA-1e
Subject:
9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (PERS)
Bell Canada announces the introduction of the
transmission of additional information between Local Service Providers (LSPs)
and Bell Canada’s 9-1-1 PERS system for the purpose of providing 9-1-1
service to the LSPs end customers. Additional fields will identify
the province of the caller and the name of the LSPs data provider.
Additional optional location information can also be provided. These
changes are expected to become functional in early IVQ2001.
Interconnection is via dedicated trunk side connections
to Bell Canada’s Voice Network to facilitate transport of 9-1-1 calls
from the LSPs end customers through Bell Canada’s voice network to the
appropriate 9-1-1 Service Bureau, as well as via data connections to allow
the updating of Bell Canada’s 9-1-1 PERS Data
System with the pertinent LSP end customers’ calling number and location
information.
Compatibility Impact:
These changes must be included in the customer record
information file in order for the file to be accepted by the 9-1-1 PERS
system.
