Network-to-Network Interface Disclosure

May 31, 2000

No. BIA-1d

Subject:

9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (PERS)

Bell Canada announces the introduction of the transmission of an additional field between Local Service Providers (LSPs) and Bell Canada’s 9-1-1 PERS for the purpose of providing 9-1-1 service to the LSPs end customers. This additional field is required due to the 416 NPA overlay (previously Disclosed in Bell Industry Advisory BIA-3j), and is expected to become effective December 1, 2000.

Interconnection is via dedicated trunk side connections to Bell Canada’s Voice Network to facilitate transport of 9-1-1 calls from the LSPs end customers through Bell Canada’s voice network to the appropriate 9-1-1 Service Bureau, as well as via data connections to allow the updating of Bell Canada’s 9-1-1 PERS Data System with the pertinent LSP end customers’ calling number and location information.

Compatibility Impact:

The additional field must be included in order for the customer record information file to be accepted by the 9-1-1 PERS system.

Documentation:

This interface was previously disclosed in Bell Interface Document BID-0024, dated September 1997. The revised interface is described in Bell Interface Document BID-0024, dated May 2000. An electronic version of Bell Interface Document BID-0024 is available for $50 each. A hard copy of the BID is also available for $65 each. Previous purchasers of BID-0024 may purchase the updated electronic versions of the BID for $15 and for a hard copy the price is $20. Please note that the prices are subject to change without notice.
