9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service
(PERS)
Bell Canada announces the planned offering of interconnection between
Local Service Providers (LSPs) and Bell Canada’s 9-1-1 PERS for the purpose of
providing 9-1-1 service to the LSPs end customers. Interconnection arrangements are
expected to become available by IQ98.
Interconnection is via dedicated trunk side connections to Bell
Canada’s Voice Network to facilitate transport of 9-1-1 calls from the LSPs end
customers through Bell Canada’s voice network to the appropriate 9-1-1 Service
Bureau, as well as via data connections to allow the updating of Bell Canada’s 9-1-1
PERS Data System with the pertinent LSP end customers’ calling number and location
information.
