Subject:
9-1-1 Public Emergency Reporting Service (E
9-1-1) Display Screen and Service Printer Interfaces
Bell Canada
announces the addition of information identifying the local carrier through which an E
9-1-1 call was originated. This information, sent from the ALI (Automatic Location
Identifier) system, will be transmitted to the emergency bureau using existing interfaces.
This additional information is expected to become available during 3Q97.

number and street address can be received from the network by the terminal equipment at
the emergency bureau.
Compatibility Impact:
Terminals described in Appendix 1 of Bell Disclosure Document BID-0013
are not expected to be impacted because the additional information will be simply
printed/displayed along with the currently available information.
Documentation:
The updated interface specification is contained in appendix 1 of Bell
Disclosure Document BID-0013 which describes the
fields identifying the local carrier, as well as other minor updates. Hard copies of
appendices 1, 2, 5, and 6 are available as a package for $20.00. The entire document BID-0013 can be obtained for $65.00. Electronic
